The story behind how our company started
After a decade of working in finance and marketing tech startups, our co-founder, Sang, was troubled when a childhood friend took out a high-interest predatory loan due to an emergency dental need.
Sang stepped in and offered to take over the loan because it was causing long-term financial distress to his friend Jason's family. They agreed on a friendlier, flexible repayment plan. Instead of keeping the entire repayment, Sang put the interest earned into a savings account so Jason could use it for future emergencies.
Jason is not alone. 1 in 3 Americans need help to afford an unexpected $2,000 expense within a month. Emergencies happen, and they shouldn’t condemn anyone to financial hardship.
In 2022, Sang and his co-founder Tung created Avytree to provide hard-working families access to fair credit and financial solutions with fewer fees, low rates, and transparent terms. Additionally, Avytree gives back by offering up to 50% of interest earned as rebates to families so they can use it to cover future needs.
Today, Avytree partners with thoughtful local businesses to offer in-house flexible payment plans and build a better and equitable way for every American to access and afford services that matter.
